My family and I grew up on the Puget Sound owning and chartering yachts from 34 - 65 feet (all power). I have experience in deck hand work, driving, docking, and was a commercial fisherman in Bristol Bay, AK in summer of 2005 aboard a 32 foot boat. I grew up on a lake with a 22 foot ski boat, with two jet skiis. My father and Captain in Alaska all allowed me to drive and be aboard to help in any way. Throwing over the fenders and tying them accordingly, tying the boat properly to the docks, dropping anchor (both working with the anchor or driving to do so), and any other task. Using the davit to drop the dinghy in and out of the water and securly facining it to the deck. I am a boat lover and love to be out on the water. My knowledge and help makes for a better and more fun experience not worrying about lack of knowledge. I was a member of the Berkeley Yacht Club from 1996-98, and a member of the Balina Bay Yacht Club (Alameda, CA) from 1997 – 1999.
My experience includes an extensive amount of experience sailing in San Francisco Bay, Mission Bay, and San Diego Bay. I have done some coastal cruising near San Diego. I have a full set of equipment, including self inflating life jacket, Gill foulies, and gloves.
I was certified as a scuba diver by NAUI at the age of 15 in 1968 in Santa Barbara, and have been diving ever since. The majority of my diving experience has been up and down the California coast, with some diving experience in Kauai as well. I went through a second NAUI certification course as a refresher in 1999, and am working on my Advanced and Master Diver certifications currently. I expect to complete Dive Master certification program in the spring of 2007. I am currently working part-time (approximately 32 hours per week) at a Shelter Island (San Diego) dive shop.

I just came back from a cruise on a Marten 49 in the Baltic Sea. I am not working right now so I have time to sail. I would like to learn more about yachting and maybe also do some racing once I picked up the necessary skills.
