Yacht Clubs
There are many yacht clubs within San Diego County, all of which are members of the San Diego Association of Yacht Clubs (SDAYC). The clubs host over 13 events annually for the benefit of San Diego area charities such as the San Diego chapter of the Make-a-Wish Foundation, San Diego Hospice, and Children's Hospital. The combined events raise well over $500,000 every year.
Additionally, almost all of the clubs have youth sailing programs that are open to the public. These programs have produced numerous US National, World, and Olympic medal winning sailors not to mention winners of the oldest sporting trophy in history, the America's Cup.
